mahogany sculpture

I have a lot of folk art, including a number of other pieces from John Barrow, and I am mostly only interested in depictions of animals, plants, and geometric forms, not humans. However the colors of the women's dress, combined with the condor, make this one of only a handful of pieces I have in my collection depicting humans, and I am extremely happy with it! One thing I realized I especially love about this piece is the dynamism that comes from having the condor sticking out away from the piece's center of gravity.

I sent this as a gift! It was love at first sight! She named him "Tomas" He is the same on both sides, so he is reversible, which I hadn't realized. The red and blue colors are vibrant! This is so well made and sweet.... instant smiles!

I have to admit that i was a little skeptical about buying a painted work from Sarwaedi - all of the other wonderful pieces I have purchased by him were natural. Of course when I unwrapped it I immediately knew that my concerns were unwarranted. As with all of his work, this beautiful piece is outstanding. Again, thanks so much Sarwaedi and Novica!
