Details

Abdul Salami Amadu etches the double gong or nno nno on the outer contours of this traditional large wooden bowl. Ghana's Ga people use the nno nno to call the attention of the people in the community when an announcement is to be made. Amadu carves the black and red centerpiece from sese wood and chisels the composition with admirable dexterity.

"Wood vase"

I really like this vase from Africa. It is painted nice and I like how he carved the wood. I put on my shelf with all my other vases both ceramic and wood. Beautiful detailing.

Everything about this small vase looks and feels nice. Its a true work of art. And what an amazingly superb packaging job to protect it in transit. This vase rounds out my floral project perfectly.
