Details

Classic Javanese batik patterns inspire this elegant silk shawl. Yuni Kristina selects the kawung, an eight-pointed rosette once reserved for the sultan, and the triangular tumpal pattern for this design. These motifs once adorned men's formal clothing during the ancient Javanese Kingdom and symbolize dignity, self-respect and self-esteem.

Each motif is created by hand, as evidenced by the occasional pencil mark or slight color variations.
