Delivery EstimateInspired by the story of desperate migrants who traveled across the Mediterranean sea, Ghanaian artist Samuel Ashong uses the batik method to paint this touching composition, diligently applying a wax resist to cotton calico before adding colorful dyes. A line of migrants stretches towards the horizon beneath a red-orange sunset, carrying their belongings and loves ones along with them. This batik painting is named "Exodus," inspired by the biblical story. Says the artist, "I advise the youth to stay in their various countries to contribute to their development."

"Beautiful Batik"
The art is beautiful and will be a great addition to our home. The packaging did protect the batik, but the matting is creased on one entire short end.

"treasure from Africa"
I made one African wall in my hallway. I have been to Africa many times, but I could not return with anything big...I love this picture of the women at the market in West Africa. It has modern and primitive elements as I see it, and it goes well with my other artifacts.
