Alighted atop this West African mask, a bird wraps its vividly colored wings around the mask's head. Artisan Ibrahim Seyeed from Ghana names this original mask Anoma kese, meaning "big bird" in a Ghanaian tribal dialect. This captivating mask is hand carved from sese wood and is detailed with intricately etched aluminum plating, which is affixed to the forehead and cheeks.
