The Guro believe that animals represent links between the human world and the spirit world. Salihu Ibrahim of Ghana faithfully represents a Guro-style elephant mask, carved of sese wood with fierce tusks and a long curving trunk.

"Wonderful mask"
I was very excited to receive this mask. It makes a great impression against the white wall where I wanted to place it. I love the geometric design and quirkiness of the face which evokes laughter and good humor for me.
