This handsome walking stick from Ghanaian artisan Kwasi Asante is carved in a twisted shape with a loop for a handle. Centering the design is the adinkra symbol gye nyame, which means "except for God", and acknowledges the omnipotence and immortality of God. The artisan paints the walking stick in an attractive contrast of brown and black. Adinkra symbols were created by the Asante peoples of Ghana; they are visual icons that represent a characteristic or proverb.
