From Alok Jain in India, these 22k gold plated sterling silver dangle earrings glisten with amethyst, iolite, citrine, peridot, garnet, blue topaz, and carnelian. Their colors correspond to a specific chakra. Clear and light purple stones are associated with the 7th chakra (awareness and wisdom); the purple, violet and indigo gems with 6th chakra (insight and perception), and the blue or light blue with the 5th, that of communication and truth. Green and pink stones are for love and compassion, linked to the heart, on the 4th chakra. For inner power and will, the 3rd chakra is associated with yellow gems, whereas emotion and sexuality are linked to red and orange gems for the 2nd chakra. Black gems are used to stimulate the 1st chakra, that of stability and security.
In Sanskrit, chakra refers to an energy vortex through which vital universal forces are channeled, and there are believed to be seven in the human body. When all seven are aligned the person feels a healthy sense of well-being.

"These were exactly pictured"
These earrings are beautiful in person, exactly as pictured. They are neither too big or too small. Also, note that they are colored opposite so that they correspond in each ear....not just two earrings that are the same. I had been looking at them for some time and finally bought them for myself. Very happy purchase.

"Beautiful - the only problem..."
This is a beautiful, delicate and unusual design - I love it! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it did not come with the little plastic thingies you slip onto the earrings in order to keep them from slipping off your ears. On the one hand, I love the lightness of the earrings - on the other hand, the lightness makes it easy for them to slip out of your ear unnoticed. I have some of the little plastic things on hand, but the hole is too small, so when I slip it onto the hook, it bends. Not a huge deal - but it would have been so simple to include the little plastic thingies that fit correctly, and would have made them so much easier to use.

"Beaytiful and Balanced"
My wife loves these earrings. She says These are so unique and beautiful. I also absolutely love that the colors represent the seven Chakras. The artist really created something very special here with the balance of the color, the design and the overall beauty of this earring reflecting the balance one hopes to achieve in the body and mind with Chakra energy.
