Ghanaian Handmade African Sese Wood Tribal Mask, "Lobi Tradition"

For his work, Emmanuel Austin Ankude of Ghana says he gets his, "...inspirations from God almighty, nature and my loving family. I design and craft my products at the same time." His design for this mask is influenced by the wooden sculptures of male and female spirit figures used by the West African Lobi people, who originated in Ghana and then spread to Burkina Faso and the Cote d'Ivoire. Hand carved from sese wood, the mask has a rustic appearance and features large round eyes with slit openings and etched lines carved along the bottom of the face.
