A single piece of Indian kadam wood is transformed into an extraordinary sculpture featuring a Mughal hunting expedition. From Dayal J. Daryanani, the sculpture is carved by hand with sublime detail featuring an elephant holding a lion with its trunk. On its back, the mahout guides the pachyderm as he sits on the creature's shoulder. The elephant carries an ornate howdah with royal guards sitting inside, and royal peacocks perched on the top. Fierce looking spears complete this admirable piece.
