"Excellent quality and finish. Beautiful!"

This was a surprise for my wife who loves hippos. I waited a number of weeks for it to make it to the US.The quality of the sculpture is outstanding, with great shape, color and finish. It looks just like the picture shown on the Novica website.

"Its not Ebony but dyed wood"

Ebony is a very costly wood. When I received the sculpture, I was surprised with the weight. Ebony is heavy because dense. This peace is not heavy. Its not ebony I think to myself. But I could be wrong. So I decided to sand the sculpture: unfortunately it was a dyed wood, colorized with black painted.I paid very much and the wood is not Ebony.

"Love This Carving"

This ebony rhinoceros is wonderful. I have another carving by Mr. Avorwlanu, a rosewood hippopotamus. Love it also.
