Delivery EstimateThe majestic design of this is designed by Guatemala's Jimenez Family in honor of K'abel, queen of the Maya. Falling round the neck like a breastplate, the necklace is crafted by hand with tubular pendants of dark green jade linked together with sterling silver. K'abel was a renowned warrior queen whose tomb was found in 2012 in the Maya city of El Peru-Waká, in northwestern Petén, Guatemala. Considered one of the greatest of Maya rulers, K'abel was a military governor of the Wak Kingdom who ruled for at least 20 years with her husband, King K'inich Bahlam. She carried the title of supreme warrior or kaloomte, which placed her in a higher position of authority, over her husband.

"A delightfully elegant ring"
Friends who have commented on this gorgeous ring agree that the piece deserves a more accurate descriptor than cocktail ring. It could easily be a wedding / commitment ring for an individual who is brave enough to break from tradition. The term cocktail ring recalls images of flashy stones, bordering on garish. This lovely pale green stone set in a highly polished sterling band, is the opposite of garish; the artisans have skillfully selected, cut, and polished the jade, showcasing its appealing, discrete beauty. The stone is precisely as pictured in the photo in terms of color and proportion, but it is highly polished, as befits the setting. Many rings with semi-precious stones can be thick and clunky, with rough edges and sloppy soldering. This piece was masterfully created, with not a rough edge to be found. My complements to the talented Jimenez family.

"Great when you want something a little elevated"
This piece looks expensive when its on my hand. I like to swap out one of my more casual rings for this one when Im going to an event that requires a little dressing up.
