Tat Yan Soo of Bali presents this decorative ceramic jar in the form of a skull. The artisan was inspired by the funeral ritual of the village of Trunyan in Bali, where, instead of burying the dead, the deceased loved one is cleansed and placed in a bamboo cage beneath a Taru Menyan tree, or "nice smelling" tree, to neutralize the scent until time leaves just a skeleton. The skull is then placed on a special stone altar. Let this ceramic skull guard your treasures like the altar in Trunyan guards the memories of loved ones passed on.
