This handsome mask from Victoria Agyepomaa in Ghana is rich in Akan symbolism. The hand-carved wood mask is ornamented with recycled glass beads and painted with a red sankofa adinkra symbol. Adinkra symbols are visual icons depicting a concept or proverb; the sankofa symbol means "return and get it".
