I really like these lacquer boxes for their unusal shape (square, oval and round being the norm) and the intrincate and minute brushwork of the painting. It is delicate and minimal at the same time to cumpliment modern and minimalist interiors.

Themes in our box collection include animal, floral and reverse painted glass and are designed from materials such as mate gourd. Featured artist Adelina Rendon was just seven years old when her mother taught her the family’s traditional art of lacquered wood. She creates several designs including small boxes, trunks and traditional masks. Rendon’s work has garnered her several awards.
