Abstract Copper Vase Handcrafted in Mexico, "Abstract Pentagon"$124.99
Working in copper, Mexican artisans Rosy and Daniel create an awe-inspiring vase that will add a modern touch to your home decor. To create the vase's form, the artisans heat the copper to a red-hot temperature and diligently strike it with a hammer to craft it into the desired shape. This intensive process requires between three and six artisans to complete. Once complete, the vase is given an antiqued finish that highlights each individual hammer stroke. The vase is given a pentagonal form at the center, accentuated by abstract curves and waves. This home accessory is perfect for simple decor or for displaying flowers.
Pre-Hispanic Replica Nicaraguan Ceramic Vase, "Serpent Woman"$149.99
Legend tells how the local ruler had a beautiful wife of strange and mysterious habits. Each Friday, she would take much food to a secret place on the river. One of the chief's servants followed her and what he saw terrified him. He told her husband, who followed her the next week. The woman sat down on the shore and struck the water with her hand. Out came an enormous serpent, with whom she passed the time eating and talking. Enraged, the jealous husband killed his wife. But the furious snake agitated the water so the currents overflowed the riverbank and destroyed the ancient village. The survivors built a new town, which they named Serpent Woman — or meaning Cebaco.
Maria Arauz tells the story on a cylindrical vase of beautifully incised terracotta. "This explains the name of today's town of Sebaco," she says.
Round Ceramic Vase with Hand-Painted Leaf Motifs, "Round Autumn"$79.99
Working in the style of ceramics brought by Spanish colonists, Guatemalan artisan Lilyan Benecke creates a vase inspired by autumn. She crafts this vase in a round shape from white ceramic, featuring autumnal branches with hand-painted leaves and acorns. A gold-tone finish trims the vase's rim.
Handcrafted Pre-Hispanic Ceramic Decorative Vase, "Vibrant Pre-Hispanic"$289.99
Inspired by pre-Hispanic ceramic traditions, Nicaraguan artisan Arlen Estrada creates a stunning decorative vase to add to your home decor. Crafted by hand, this vase takes the shape of a kneeling human figure that holds a vessel on his back. The upper portion of this decorative vase is decorated with earth-tone pre-Hispanic glyphs.
