This was absolutely beautiful! It was well tooled, well crafted, and the wood has a beautiful grain that doesn't show well in the picture. In other words, the photo doesn't do it justice. The only detractor is the lock which is a bit dinky but it works. The person who made this is skilled and meticulous. Bravo!

This kind of master handcrafting is so beautiful but difficult to find in the USA. I was especially touched by M. Ayub?s write up about the Kashmir Valley and how he learned his craft which was historically passed from one generation to the next but attracts fewer and fewer artisans these days. The box is beautifully detailed and I feel fortunate to have stumbled across his work on Novica?s site. Thank you for sharing the gift of your artistic expression and craftsmanship with the world M. I bought a similar jewelry box from this artist for a friend a couple years ago and finally got one for myself! Actually I got two. They are absolutely beautiful and inspiring. I just have to find an honorable place to put them!
