Hand-carved of mansonia wood, this wall sculpture depicts an African mask in silhouette in tones of brown, grey, and green. Robert Aidoo-Taylor creates the image from mansonia wood, carved and painted by hand. It depicts the artisan's vision of a mask used by the Igbo people of Nigeria to celebrate the annual rainy season. The ceremony is traditionally reserved for men.
