Holding a stack of goods atop her head, an African woman is depicted in this sculpture from Ghana. Cynthia Danquah hand-carves this image from a single piece of sese wood, given a black finish with painted accents on the woman's clothes. This piece of home decor is named Boafo, meaning "helper" in the Akan language.
