Delivery EstimateRealized in colorful motifs that resemble patchwork, a whimsical cow decorates this ceramic wall accent from Mexico. Maria Isabel Cruz creates this piece, crafted using the dry rope technique, in which a wax mixture made of magnesium oxide and fat are applied to the outlines of the image or motif prior to glazing. The wax mixture creates a barrier that keeps the different fill colors in the design separate during firing, before burning off to reveal the blackened ceramic beneath. A length of nylon cord on the back provides for easy hanging.

"Wonderful fun piece!"
I purchased the trio pet plate and once I received it I had to have more. They make me smile every time I look at them. I was a bit disappointed in the beautiful cow plate, as the cow is painted in primary colors and the Novica sample shows an off-white background with some little hints of purple. The plate I received has a very strong purple/lavender background. I am going to keep it though, because there is no guarantee that requesting a replacement would have a different outcome. I recommend it, regardless.

They didnt mention color variations and the plate that I received is a dark lavender which really clashes with the cute orange cow.

"Whimsical Cow Refreshing"
I just received my Whimsical Cow Plate. It is an item likely to make you smile. The cows expression is sweet. The colors are bright and cheerful. Of note: the background looked white on my computer screen. It is a mauve shade in person.
