Unique Recycled African Mask in Brown and Beige from Ghana, "Shape of Life"

By Ghanaian artist Ed Franklin Gavua, this original and unique African mask reflects on the preciousness of life. Gavua works with pieces of recycled carton to create this eco-friendly mask, which depicts a face in a cubist style. The forehead is crafted in the shape of an egg, cradled by folds that resemble a nest. Dried cocoa leaves and paste give this mask its texture, finished in tones of brown and beige.
