Handmade and painted by Indonesian artisan Gio, these two brothers cheerfully await their turn to dance the kecak dance with the rest of their team. Kecak dance was probably first performed in 1930, and was originally choreographed by the expatriate Walter Spies. The chorus originated from a very ancient ritual of Sanghyang or "Trance Dance", which is still performed today in some remote villages. Carved in teak wood and finished in antique colors, this unforgettable statuette will bring culture and ritual into your home.
