“My name is Dany and this is my wife Lisbeth, whom I met 19 years ago when we encountered each other in the halls of the architecture faculty in the university of San Carlos de Guatemala. We fell in love and got married. Today, we have been married 16 years and have a beautiful family of three boys and one girl, who are the primary drive in our lives. They inspire us to carry onward in order to give them a better future so that they can become good people and have professions that help them in the future.
“We have a mechanic’s workshop, which has allowed us to see the industrial side of many things. The clientele for this business was diminishing, which led us to seek other alternatives. With the knowledge that we obtained through our careers, such as design and precise measuring, among other things, we began to create home decor pieces using wood. All of this began as a small pastime, but we slowly became more interested in it. One day, I told Lisbeth that I would make her a ring. I took my tools and began to make it. The result was excellent and she loved it. Many people admired the ring and asked her where she had bought it. It was the start of something marvelous. In that moment, we realized that our skills were very good, and we began to create jewelry.
“We have always been enamored with plants and wood, since they are gifts from God. It is fascinating how such a variety of colors, textures, and veins exist in a single piece of wood, giving a unique touch to each piece. Each item that we make is part of a continuous discovery of nature.
“Our goal as parents is to see our children graduate from university, no matter what effort it entails. We know that they are the future of our country, and we do everything for them so that they can fulfill their destinies. We would also love for them to get involved in our business, so that in the future we can provide work for more Guatemalans. We all have a social responsibility to help each other. Unfortunately, many people emigrate, seeking other forms of making a living that helps them to care for their family.
“We make our pieces with a lot of hope that whoever buys our products will see the strength, care, and love reflected in each piece, and know that everything is renewable. We have to take charge of eliminating everything that harms our environment, being agents change for the world, little by little reclaiming this precious gift from God.”
