Signed Abstract Painting in Purple from Guatemala, "Wisdom of the Word"

Working in his unique style, Guatemalan artist Jose Coutiño paints a composition that will bring an air into your home that is at once contemporary and traditional. In abstract waves of purple, pink, and green, five women are depicted alongside pre-Hispanic ceramic jars. Says the artist, "Words are lacking of feeling when they are not accompanied by action...We have the opportunity to be congruent and in this way give our words value. Take care of what you say so that each word may be of use to those who listen."
