Panji and Condrokirono's legendary love story inspire this magnificent rod puppet by Nenny Lukhita. The story tells of prince Panji's search for love, and after many battles with nearby kingdoms, he finally falls for princess Condrokirono. After their wedding, they return to Panji's home where he succeeds his father as king of Kunipan. Since then, their story is told as a wayang golek or rod puppet show. In Lukhita's version, Panji wears an off-white cotton attire accessorized with hand-beaten copper jewels and crown. His face is carved of pule wood and features pinewood hands and puppet rods.
