Depicting a bird reaching to grab an egg off its back, the Adinkra symbol Sankofa represents the importance of learning from the past. Ghanaian artist Malik Jabir Dodoo creates this cultural Sankofa sculpture, hand-carved from sese wood and decorated by hand with beads of recycled plastic in hues of green, black, yellow, and white. The sculpture is displayed atop a black wood base.
