Details

The Holy Family sails on a traditional reed canoe in this endearing nativity scene by Alberto Aparicio Canchari. Known as caballito de totora, the canoe is filled with three sacks destined as offerings to the land. The beige one is filled with water, the green one with yucca, and there are potatoes and lima beans in each of the two black ones. Sheep and llamas guard Baby Jesus in a nativity scene that is sculpted by hand with Andean pride.

"Interesting"

First of all, the execution of this set is excellent. I had debated about this purchase, just because of the interesting style of an Amazonian rainforest tribe. I am glad I made it.
