Details
In this original painting by Ghana's Ed Franklin Gavua, a mother stands with a tray of food atop her head while carrying her two children. Ed works with black ink on white paper, using a creative technique where he imprints the initial image with a wood block, refining and defining the subjects' form with a razor blade. He employs the cubist technique, depicting the mother and children with exaggerated and deconstructed forms.
