Details

From Oaxaca de Juarez, the capital city of Oaxaca in Mexico, come these delightful tin lanterns for the holidays from artisans Aida and Cristino Lavariega. This type of metalwork used to be seen only in churches in the capital, principally in the form of images of saints or of the Virgin Mary. Only in more recent decades did artisans expand into other areas such as decorative pieces. Six charming candle-lit red lanterns adorned with green holly leaves and a pink bow are crafted from tinplate and painted by hand. Add some holiday cheer to your home by hanging the set on a wall, stair banister, or tree.
