Created in the traditional style of Mithila, this delightful Madhubani painting celebrates the harmony of all nature. Devendra Kumar Jha depicts royal elephants with flowers blooming on their faces and trunks. The pachyderms are quite detailed and ornate, while the rest of the composition is filled with foliage. Originating in northern Bihar, Madhubani painting was once used to decorate the floors and walls of homes. The artist uses vegetable dyes on handmade paper.
As each painting is an individual creation, each is unique. Colors and motifs may vary slightly from that pictured.
