Designed by Balinese artisan Desak Nyoman Parwati, the robe's unique patterns of Caribbean and powder blue floral motifs are achieved with a combination of batik, a resist dyeing technique, and tie-dyeing. Lovely and comfortable, its flattering front-wrap style, wide sleeves and matching belt bring a touch of Balinese chic anywhere you are.

"A gorgeous robe"
I love these robes so much. I have ordered multiple robes in different colored batiks. Each one is so gorgeous. So comfortable, light weight for warmer weather and washes beautifully. Highly recommend anything made bythis wonderful batik artist!!!!!

"Bigger size needed"
I am a 12-14 size and this robe was too small to go around my body with any fullness ( not like the photos) The side pockets ( love side pockets) actually are almost hip pockets. I know it was just one size fits all but perhaps you might consider making a bigger size for those of us who have a bigger body type. I will give the robe to a daughter for Christmas.Otherwise, the fabric and design are lovely.

"These brightly colored flags decorate my newly built deck!"
I love these flags! They are brightly colored and show detailed chakra symbols. When the breeze is not waving them around I like looking at the various mandalas.

"Luxurious fabric and outstanding color palette"
Im looking forward to taking this on my next beach vacation. Its the third item Ive purchased from this artist and Im always impressed with her skill in producing such beautiful colors and fabrics. This sarong elevates the typical swimsuit coverup.

Preserving Traditions
For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.

Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
