Wide eyes above the long nose are strangely inquisitive in a creature that melds characteristics of man and crocodile. Opening his mouth, he displays an even row of sharp teeth, and horns crown the mysterious visage. Salihu Ibrahim sculpts an image from the Guro people of Cote d'Ivoire, where such masks represent the spirits of the underworld. This crocodile symbolizes peace.
