Working on the traditional telar de cintura, or backstrap loom, Mexican artisan Balbina Mendoza hand-weaves this cotton backpack in the style of Oaxacan handicrafts. Stripes of indigo and pearl grey run down the bag, decorated with geometric diamond patterns. A zipper pocket on the back provides space for storing small odds and ends. Draped over the shoulders on two adjustable straps, this backpack opens with a tie closure beneath the top flap to a lined interior in grey with a zipper pocket on one side.
