This canoe-shaped decorative bowl, hand crafted from marupa wood, bears distinctive geometric markings that are achieved through wood burning techniques. The bowl is made by the Pataxó Indigenous Community, an indigenous ethnic group in Brazil that is struggling to retain their hold on their traditional lands and their culture.

"Wooden bowel"
I bought this as a gift for my son-in-law who is very ethno-centric. I felt it was a tribute to him, the artist and a declaration of support to traditions & legacies. Made a nice addition to his dresser as a catch all.

"Love the frog!"
