Handmade Cotton and Velvet Embroidered Peacock Jewelry Box, "Peacock Paradise"

A stunning peacock poses proudly on the lid of this beautiful jewelry box from Arti Sharma of India. Taupe colored cotton fabric is used as a base for the gorgeous zardozi embroidery that uses golden colored zari thread for the outlines and details. Zardozi work has been around since the 17th century and originated in the Persian Empire for royalty. Acrylic thread is used to add color of the wonderful design, which features shades of blue, red, pink, purple, and green. The beautiful peacock is adorned with round red beads, which accentuates the glamorous appeal. The sides of the wood box is covered in a fuchsia colored velvet blend, and opens to reveal a fully lined poppy colored polyester interior that is the perfect size for storing your jewelry.
