Handmade 100% Cotton Batik African Ceremony Wall Hanging, "Ceremonious Ritual"

West African cultural practices are deeply ingrained in tribal life. Religious ceremonies and rituals sometimes include sacrifices to the gods, such as animal sacrifice or the pouring of libations, generally wine or some other type of alcohol, as an offering to gods and ancestors. These ceremonial rites are also performed during the crowning of new royalty, such as kings, queens and chiefs. Ghanaian artisan Edward Lamptey creates this abstracted depiction using batik on cotton to represent his country's ceremonious rituals and their importance to the culture.
