Details

This beautiful wall cross is made in the traditional Talavera style that dates back to the 16th century. Black and white clays from the Puebla region are cleaned, aged and kneaded before the pieces are formed. The items are then slowly dried in a controlled environment before being fired and glazed. Isabelle Collins uses the traditional colors of cobalt and off-white, which are applied as they were in the 16th century, with brushes made from horsehair or mule hair.
