Carved and painted by hand, this wall art design depicts masks that are representative of the Anlo-Ewe people of Ghana. Rita Addo Zakour mounts the hand carved faces on a ceramic plaque. She names the piece Akpe, which means "thank you" in the Ewe language. "This design represents a warm reception, where visitors in return present such masks to their host," the Ghanaian artisan explains.
