Details

Diligently realized through traditional handblowing techniques, this art glass centerpiece features petals of yellow and dark plum within a clear body that evokes the shape of a canoe. Employing techniques inspired by the Murano glassmakers of Italy, Brazil's Molinari Family works together to create this impressive piece.

The presence of air bubbles accentuates the nature of the traditional hand blown crafting process, making each piece unique.

Preserving Traditions

Preserving Traditions

Antonio Carlos and his brother, Paulo Molinari, learned the ancient hand-blown glass technique as apprentices of the Italian master, Aldo Bonora, who came to Brazil from Murano Island. After eight years, they opened their own workshop in 1962. Considered among the most brilliant and talented hand-blown glass makers in the country, they have trained a number of glass artisans and have formed masters that have worked with them for more than 30 years.
