Delivery EstimateMauricio Morales crafts a small ceramic bird figurine that features exquisite hand painted detailing. "The process for making these small animals was something I learned when I was small...since then it has become a passion of mine," says the Guatemalan artisan, adding that the bird sculpture is made for, "...all of those who love birds." He starts by mixing the clay and carefully shaping the figure, and then he adds aluminum legs and feet. After the bird is fired, he sands it, mixes his own colors and paints the figurine. The result is a charming, meticulously decorated representation of a snowy owl, complete with tuftless head, small yellow eyes, and white plumage with hints of grey.

"Another Way Of Perserving One Of Our Wildlife."
I have purchased several items from this artist for myself but when I laid my eyes on this beautiful snowy owl I knew I had to buy this for a friend who is a HUGE fan of Hedwig from the J.K. Rowlings books of Harry Potter. The incredible coloring, lines and design of this owl by the artisan makes you think that he had a snowy owl in his studio posing as a model for this ceramic piece. When I presented it to my friend, he couldnt have been more surprised but also more happy upon receiving it which in turn made me pleased.

This owl is beautifully done, expert painting, and very realistic. I now have a collection of four of this artists owls. Hope he makes more!

"Beautiful Oriole"
I gave this as a gift and the recipient put it in a outside planter and it still looks good after a few years. He loves Orioles and happens to be a Baltimore Orioles fan.

"I needed this sweet Pink Robbin"
