Details

This silk scarf is designed and handmade in Armenia, by sisters Anna and Azatuhi Stepanyan. The scarf is hand painted in the technique of cold batik. The motifs are inspired by the Armenian miniature painting tradition, as seen in the ancient illuminated manuscripts of the Medieval and Byzantine periods. Ornate motifs in red, saffron, and green are carefully painted on a white ground.
