Presented by Thai artisan Achara, this wide wrap ring revels in rich sterling silver textures. Handcrafted by Karen hill tribe silversmiths, it features the shape of an aster flower on the front with line and diamond motifs along the band. The motifs are stamped by hand, using ancestral techniques.

"Not the same quality as her other items."
I have ordered numerous rings, and some other items from Achara, and I love her work, but this time the ring seems flimsy. The others have decent thickness to them so they dont feel as if they are going to crush in on your finger or get crushed just putting them in a jewelry box. This one is paper thin, and is does not have the quality to it as any of the others I have purchased. I was quite surprised when I saw and felt it compared to any of her others that I already own. I am keeping it, but I do not have faith that it will last long. The picture on here is even deceiving, as it has no edge at all in reality, it is truly paper thin, the picture of the item on NOVICA shows a little bit of thickness, and that is what her other rings do have. If it is a cost issue, raising the price would be much preferred over lowering the quality and beauty of these items.

"Lovely and Unique"
I have 2 bracelets by this artist and both of them need to be spread or bent to get on. I wish it would go on without having to do this since it feels like Im bending the bracelet to get it on. The workmanship and beauty of the bracelet is top notch. I would recommend it but if you have larger wrists, then this will not fit you. I have small wrists and had to spread it to get it on. My bracelet is a bit more oxidized than the one pictured but I really like oxidized pieces.

Achara is not only a talented jewelry artisan but is also a kind, dedicated entrepreneur. Her workshop has several full-time workers, and she provides work for a number of part-time silversmiths. Her part time collaborators are hill tribe artisans who struggle to survive. To ensure that these artisans have enough income to live on; Achara continually orders their silverwork and pays for it in advance. She does this even though she may have no orders for their work at the time. She is able to do this because of her Novica customers who provide a stable, steady income for her workshop.
Preserving Traditions
Achara's workshop uses traditional silversmithing techniques to produce centuries-old designs as well as contemporary pieces inspired by Thai culture. Many artisans have been trained in her workshop. They learn not only traditional jewelry making but also how to apply modern quality control standards.
Enabling Education
Achara's children are of university age. She currently pays for her daughter's higher education and, next year, she will also pay for her son's.
Empowering Women
The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.
