Elegant brass repoussé adorns the face of a woman. This exquisite African mask by George Asante represents Yirenkyiwa, the first queen mother of Asona, a clan of the Akwapim. She is remembered for her love and how she cared for the clan. The Akwapim come from the Aburi area of Ghana.
