The Brazilian armadillo is one of only two armadillo species that can roll itself into a ball as a defense against predators. This wonderful sculpture is created by the Pataxó Indigenous Community, who are struggling to hold onto their native lands. Artisans carve the armadillo by hand from native brauna wood and sand it until smooth.
