Featuring a mask-like head atop an upper torso, this sculpture from Ghana depicts a kingly figure, with multicolored motifs painted by hand on its surface. The sculpture is hand-carved from local sese wood by Henry Acquah of Ghana, with embossed aluminum added to give it a textured look. The artist names the sculpture after the Dan people of West Africa.
