Master carver Wilson Aboagye finds inspiration in the legendary art and teachings of the Akan people. This type of sese wood mask is known as Towo boa se, which advises to "take your time, be patient." The bird leaning over the face signifies peace and so it completes the mask's message, which suggests one should always take time in everything one does; there is no rush in life.

"Perfect for Sanctuary"
The title of the item was very important to me, as well as how the piece would fit into my personal sanctuary of African and Jamaican art.
