Harmonious colors come together, yet each retains its own identity in this handwoven shawl. Working on a backstrap loom, Maya artisans from K'amolon K'i K'ojonel transform rayon made from bamboo into a cozy lightweight wrap. Threads in blues, purples and grey distinguish the design, which is finished with lavish fringe.

"Beautiful and soft!"
This is the first shawl I purchased from this artist, but not the last! The blend of colors, the soft comfort of the shawl, the quality of the weaving all make for a beautiful piece of wearable art.

"Gorgeous colors, beautiful drape"
This is an absolutely beautiful shawl. The colors are subtle and blended. I love the feel of the rayon which I had forgotten is a synthetic textile based on wood, NOT petrochemicals.

"Exquisite"
The colours in this beautiful poncho reminds me of the beautiful bioluminescent forest from my favourite film. It is as soft as silk to the touch and the shape reminds me of folded butterfly or moth wings. Absolutely exquisite. And the fact that it is eco friendly and supports wonderful artisans and their families brings a warmth to the heart that transforms this piece from beyond wearable art to a philosophy.
