Artisan Ana Maria Enciso of Peru designs a handcrafted copper and bronze sculpture in the image of Lord of Sipán, an historic figure in the Moche culture that was a powerful ruler and respected warrior. The great warrior's body and majestic headdress are made of copper oxidized to a green patina and adorned with polished brass and copper discs and feathers. Sodalite gemstones form the eyes and calcite accents the ears. The warrior carries a shield and spear and stands atop a jasper base.
Ana Maria Enciso has received 7 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $850 and the most recent for $600. Proceeds were used to buy copper and bronze to continue crafting her designs.
