In an effort to portray the "unique beauty of the African woman," Ghanaian artist Jonathan Amartey designs a fascinating sculpture that exudes African culture. It depicts an African woman, featuring an exaggerated neck that separates her head and lower body in dramatic fashion. She wears a scarf around her head, and rests upon a base in the shape of a cogwheel. The artist diligently handcrafts this unique sculpture with a metal frame encased in fiberglass. It is part of a series.
