Details

Brazilian photographer João Paulo Barbosa masterfully captures the beautiful paradise of the Fernando de Noronha archipelago. "The Portuguese merchant Fernão de Noronha was the first owner of this 21-island archipelago of volcanic origin," Barbosa explains. "It has been inhabited by Portuguese, Dutch, and French people, including pirates and adventurers. In 1988 the archipelago, situated in the Pernambuco state, became a National Marine Park. The largest island, also called Fernando de Noronha, is home to hundreds of species of fish, coral, turtles, shark, and the charming rotifer dolphins, which can only be found in these latitudes of the Atlantic Ocean."

Featuring a white border, the photograph is printed on Crystal Archive Fuji paper.
